How It Works

Within Savvy Seller, you can create a catalog file for your shop. Listing data for your public physical products is pulled from Etsy and saved to a CSV file that is hosted online. Your shop’s catalog file is automatically synced on a monthly (free plan) or daily basis (premium plan). Then within Facebook Business Manager, you configure a product catalog to automatically pull the Etsy listings from the CSV file which is then used for tagging on Instagram and Facebook.

Create Your Shop Catalog File in Savvy Seller

  1. Using your browser, go to https://app.savvysellertools.com.
  2. If it’s your first time, sign up. If you already signed up, then login.
  3. Use the navigation bar to go to the ‘Shop Catalogs’ tool.
  4. Fill out the short form – catalog type and language.
  5. Once ready, click Generate button.
  6. Once your catalog is finished processing, you can copy the link (paper clip icon) and move onto the Facebook steps below.

Configure Your Facebook Product Catalog

    3. On the Setup Feed page, enter the URL for your shop file (copy from the Savvy Seller App), then click Next. No login credentials needed.
    4. Set the update schedule to run daily. Any hour is fine, just make sure “automatic updates” option is turned on. Click Next.
    5. Set the name of the Data Source to ‘Savvy Seller’ and ensure the currency selection matches your Etsy shop currency (can check the csv file to confirm).
  3. Click the ‘Upload’ button and wait for all your items to be processed.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues, please see the Frequently Asked Questions section below or fill out our contact form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this tool for multiple shops?

Yes! But as of right now you will need to create 2 different Savvy Seller accounts (multi shop accounts on the roadmap though!).

Why aren’t all my listings being exported?

Only active public physical listings are included.

Why does this tool use Etsy listing Id rather than SKU?

Facebook requires a single listing id for each product. Since Etsy listings can have multiple variations and skus, we need to use the internal Etsy ID. However the sku values are available in the MPN (manufacturer part number) column.

Can I use this tool for a Facebook shop only?

YES. If you are not interested in selling on Instagram, this tool will also work for syncing with a Facebook business page shop. Just note that your business page must be managed through Facebook Business Manager for this to work.

How do I get my Instagram account approved for the shopping feature?

Please reference the free guide on my website. An Instagram Business account is required, creator or personal will not work.

What should I do if I am approved for shopping and my catalog is populated but no products are available for tagging on Instagram?

First check in your Instagram Settings > Business > Shopping that the catalog we just set up is selected. You can also see if there is any additional setup steps you need to connect Instagram to Facebook within the Facebook Business Manager (Catalog Manager)

What do I do if my products are in the catalog, but my listings show up as ‘sold out’ on my Facebook shop / Instagram profile?

Facebook is defaulting new shops to use their checkout by default. Since you are using Etsy for your checkout, you just need to update your checkout settings to ‘Checkout on your website’. Instructions here: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/242644617460119
